Youth Learning Center is Seeking Mentors
April 1st, 2014
The Youth Learning Center of St. Louis is seeking mentors with game programming experience for a youth game jam.
From the YLC:
It’s that time of year again! The Youth learning Center will be hosting the 2nd Annual Midwest Youth Game Jam: A YLC Event on Friday, April 25, 2014 (6-8pm) and Saturday, April 26, 2014 (10am-4pm). We will be hosting 120 6th-12th graders for the event. On Friday, we will reveal the theme, form teams, and brainstorm – with dinner, of course! On Saturday, the kids will have the whole day to jam, with the game reveal at 3pm. You do not need to come on Friday if you don’t want to – you are more than welcome, but it’s not required.
We are in need of volunteers with programming experience to serve as mentors to the student groups. Experience in GameSalad, GameMaker, Scratch, or Unity required. Please sign up to help us out as a mentor for this event – your expertise, teamwork skills, and ability to motivate kids is so important, and we could not pull off the event without you! You will receive a free Game Jam t-shirt, dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, and plenty of snacks!
Sign up today – and pass on to any friends who may be interested! Please contact Anna Boston at aboston@ylc-stl.org or (314) 531-9916 ext. 25 to sign up!
