UMSL Seeking Game Design Education Volunteers
February 26th, 2015
The University of Missouri of St. Louis is looking for game designers to help teach one or more Introduction to Game Design classes at Xtreme IT, a summer camp for students interested in careers in information technologies. The camp will take place on the week of June 14-19, 2015, with classes are typically held from about 6-8pm.
From UMSL:
For the last seven years, UMSL has offered a summer academy aimed at students who have an interest in computing and technology careers, called Xtreme IT! During this week-long camp, students experience hands on learning about information systems, the use of technology in business, and careers in information systems and technology. Not only do they learn from professors at UMSL, they meet IT professionals from many corporations in St. Louis and entrepreneurs who are starting up technology companies. Students stay in UMSL dormitories and experience college life. For students interested in this area, it is a rare look into what their futures might hold.
This is a camp unlike anything you have seen before! You should check out our website and also ask your students to do so (http://mis.umsl.edu/xtremeit.html). You can view a video illustrating the activities, and see the schedule from last year. Some of our highlights are mixing music, developing a computer game, and developing entrepreneurial proposals for projects.
